Anna Benson
Anna Benson paints on found materials, exploring the ideas of metaphors and folktales in the animal kingdom.
She is also a member of Baltic a coalition between herself and Roisin Hyland. Together they are creating unique jewelry pieces that are inspired by each persons individual art practice, as well as working on a number of collaboration pieces for this years biennial.
Anna has also been working with Wild in Art. Wild in Art is dedicated to the promotion of art through the use of its unique animal sculptures as three dimensional artist’s canvas. Through the creative use of its animal sculptures, Wild in Art believes that it can raise awareness of the challenges facing much of the world’s animal species. Anna created the ‘Superlovebanana’, ’I am the walrus’ penguin and the ‘Noah’s Ark’ penguin.
Anna Benson is also the designer behind Cassie Creations. Cassie Creations specialises in unique and distinctive animal and wildlife designs inspired by Anna’s love of nature and the environment. She is currently a co-Director of Arena Studios & Gallery.
